All My Relations
Elsie & Isaac

Both my parents are survivors of the Indian Residential School in Shubenacadie.  Times were bad then.  My parents were among the first generation of children  who were sent there.

My dad was in grade 5 when he entered and 2 years later he was still in grade 5.  My mom was in grade 8 when she was sent there and 2 years later she was still in grade 8.

The negative impact on all of our people will never be forgotten.

My parents are both the youngest member of their families.

Wedding Day

My parents were married at St Bernard's Church in Enfield, NS

September 29, 1942

My parents  saved their earnings and took the whole family on vacations every summer.

They danced.

After retirement, my parents sold their home and moved back to Nova Scotia.  They purchased a house in Saulnierville (Digby County)

My parents were married for 46 years until my father died in March, 1988

Family Life

Opposites attract.  My mother is a true Bruins fan, while my dad was a Montreal Canadians Fan.  :)

They raised 4 children together.  Wilfred, Bryan, Beverly, Marcelle.

My parents provided a loving stable sober home.  Dad always worked.  There was enough for everyone and no one went without.

My parents were strict but never abusive.  As children, we always knew we were loved by both of them everyday.
